    • The CEU UCH Physiotherapy Practicum is the most extensive among Spanish universities: 1,200 hours. This is 50% more real clinical practice hours than the average in Spanish universities, and it is also the only one meeting international requirements for obtaining the Degree in Physiotherapy (in France, for example, the minimum is 1,050 hours).
    • All clinical practice credits (48 ECTS) concentrated in the final year. This way, students can make the most of the Practicum, having already received all theoretical and practical training in each specialty.
    • Studying physiotherapy at CEU UCH and its practical training truly prepares you so that, even before finishing your studies, you are ready to treat real patients (in 90% of cases, Practicum students are aware that the patients they have treated have a positive perception of them as professionals).

    First year Anatomy, assessment and initial treatment techniques

    The human body at the center. In this first year of the Physiotherapy Degree, we delve into the knowledge of our anatomy and how it functions, from a theoretical perspective while already introducing practical activities. Throughout the year we study both the physical aspects (Physiology, Biology, Biochemistry) and also the psychological side of the patient, whom we will also begin to examine, assess and treat.

    Second and third years General techniques, specific techniques and clinical specialties

    During the second and third years, we shape our profile as physiotherapy professionals: we study pathologies, develop our clinical reasoning, and apply it in advanced simulation classrooms. A practical journey that leads us to master general treatment techniques and explore multiple clinical specialties: pediatrics, geriatrics, neurology, sports and cardio-respiratory, among others.

    With all the knowledge acquired so far, it's time to come into contact with real patients. This fourth year of the Physiotherapy Degree can be summed up in one word: practice. Up to six different placements so that all students can train in the six main specialties the profession offers: outpatient and inpatient traumatology/orthopedics, pediatrics, geriatrics, neurology, and cardio-respiratory. With a total of more than 1,200 hours of practical training, it is one of the most extensive programs offered in Europe.

    The Degree in Physiotherapy has a duration of 4 years and 240 ECTS.

    Survey results

    Reports on the evaluation of student, PAS and PDI satisfaction regarding various aspects of the program allow gathering information to identify the main strengths and weaknesses of the degree and, together with other evidence, provide relevant data for defining improvement plans.

    Monitoring

    Official degree programs, once they have completed their third year of implementation or their accreditation renewal, will be evaluated by the Valencian Agency for Evaluation and Foresight (AVAP) to verify compliance with the project outlined in their curriculum verified by the Council of Universities.

    The Degree in Physiotherapy defines, reviews, and continuously maintains its quality objectives. To this end:

    • It annually prepares the Internal Monitoring Report, based on the results of the indicators and evidence from the Internal Quality Assurance System, which includes an analysis of its performance, proposes improvement actions, and monitors their progress.

    The University’s official degree programs are evaluated by the Agència d’Avaluació i Prospectiva (AVAP). The University submits to the Agency, for its review and approval, a dossier containing information about the new program it intends to offer.

    AVAP sends the University a final report verifying the degree. The next step is obtaining the Implementation Report, issued by the competent regional education authority.

    This officialization process culminates with the registration of the degree in the Register of Universities, Centers and Degrees (RUCT), following ratification by the Council of Universities.

    From the start of delivery of the degree, after six and eight years in the case of Bachelor’s degrees (depending on their length), and six years for master’s degrees, the programs undergo an external evaluation to secure renewal of their accreditation. The successful completion of this evaluation, carried out by AVAP, is certified with the Renewal Report.

    If the degree is modified, AVAP conducts the review and certification process for that modification, issuing an evaluative report that endorses the appropriateness of the proposed changes.
