Rankings and university networks

CEU was founded with the simple ambition of providing a high-quality and comprehensive education with a Catholic spirit. Since it was set up in 1933, it has kept on growing and it now comprises 25 different educational institutions across Spain.

And the efforts of every person who works for the CEU Cardenal Herrera University has contributed to building an institution which now enjoys great prestige. Many years of hard work lie behind our story of individual and collective transformation.

Our commitment to research, to new approaches to teaching, and to collaboration with industry and our vision of how education should be international and interactive are just some of the ways we have achieved our success.

ECA, the European Consortium for Accreditation in Higher Education, has awarded the University its Certificate for Quality in Internationalisation (CeQUINT), praising the University for its international and intercultural dimension and highlighting the quality of our internationalization programmes. Since 2013, only 5 other universities have achieved this institutional recognition.

CEU Universities as a whole was ranked 4th out of the 32 Spanish universities in the Young University Rankings 2022. At the international level, CEU Universities was ranked 136 out of 790 eligible universities.

CEU Universities has also been recognized by appearing for the first time in the QS World University Ranking, being ranked 4th amongst Spanish universities.
